USC Trojans wide receiver Brenden Rice was selected by the Los Angeles Chargers with the fifth pick of the seventh round (225th overall) in the 2023 NFL Draft. Rice had a breakout season in 2021, catching 21 passes for 299 yards and one touchdown. He also returned 17 kickoffs for 411 yards.

Rice Was a Highly Touted Recruit

Rice was a highly touted recruit coming out of high school. He was rated as a five-star prospect by ESPN and was ranked as the No. 1 wide receiver in the nation. Rice committed to USC in 2019 and played in 13 games as a true freshman. He had six receptions for 120 yards and two touchdowns.
