Brenden Rice NFL Draft 2024
USC WR Brenden Rice Son of Hall of Famer Jerry Rice Declares for NFL Draft
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (April 27, 2024) - USC wide receiver Brenden Rice, son of Hall of Famer Jerry Rice, has officially declared for the 2024 NFL Draft.
Rice is an explosive vertical receiver with good size and tantalizing yards-after-the-catch ability. He was selected by the Los Angeles Chargers in the seventh round (No. 230 overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Scouting Report
Rice is a 6'3", 205-pound wide receiver with a strong frame and good athleticism. He is a physical receiver who is not afraid to go over the middle and make tough catches. He has good hands and is able to adjust to the ball well. He is also a good route runner and is able to create separation from defenders.
Rice's biggest strength is his ability to make plays after the catch. He is a very elusive runner and is able to make defenders miss in the open field. He is also a very good blocker and is willing to do the dirty work.
Rice's biggest weakness is his lack of top-end speed. He is not a burner and will not be able to outrun most NFL cornerbacks. He also needs to improve his consistency in catching the ball. He has a tendency to drop easy passes at times.
Overall
Rice is a talented wide receiver with a lot of potential. He has the size, athleticism, and skills to be a successful NFL player. However, he needs to improve his consistency and top-end speed in order to reach his full potential.
