He also developed a deep interest in computers, using his skills to create websites and multimedia presentations about his faith. In 2006, Carlo was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. Despite his illness, he remained steadfast in his faith and offered his suffering as a sacrifice to God. He passed away on October 12, 2006, and was beatified by Pope Francis in 2020.
